Escape From Nigeria Reading/Signing, Bookends and Beginnings, Evanston, IL

Please join us at Bookends & Beginnings as Maudlyne Ihejirika and 89-year-old family matriarch #AngelinaIhejirika host the first reading/signing of Escape From Nigeria: A Memoir of Faith, Love and War on the #NorthShore.
This suburban area is central to the real-life drama that saved the #Ihejirika family from the brutal #NigerianBiafranWar, as it's where five American couples banded together to bring the war-ravaged mother and six children here as refugees on June 9, 1969.
